Islamabad: Pakistan’s young squash players triumphed at the 32nd Asian Junior Individual Squash Championships in South Korea, securing seven medals, including two golds in the main draw and two in the plate event.
M Sohail Adnan and Nauman Khan captured gold in the under-13 and under-15 categories, respectively. Nauman Khan defeated fellow Pakistani Ahmed Rayyan Khalil in the U-15 final. Sohail Adnan overcame India’s Ayaan Dhanuka in the U-13 final.
Ahmed Rayyan Khalil (U-15) and Mahnoor Ali (Girls U-13) earned silver medals for Pakistan. Ali narrowly lost a five-game thriller to China’s Yin Z. Abdullah Nawaz contributed a bronze medal in the U-19 competition.
In the plate event, Yahya Khan (U-17) and M Mustafa (U-13) added to Pakistan’s gold medal tally with victories over South Korea’s Chanyoung K and Hong Kong’s Tse K.C respectively.
