Electric Motorcycles Remain a Niche Interest in Pakistan

Islamabad: According to a recent survey by Gallup and Gilani Pakistan, only 6% of Pakistanis currently own an electric motorcycle, though a larger proportion, 24%, have considered the purchase of one.

The survey, aimed at understanding public interest in electric motorcycles, was conducted among a nationally representative sample of 1,038 adult men and women across urban and rural areas in all four provinces. Participants were asked, “Have you ever thought about buying an electric motorcycle?” In response, 24% expressed interest, while 74% said they had not considered it. A small segment, 2%, were uncertain or did not respond.

The survey, conducted via telephonic interviews, took place between April 11 and April 18, 2025. The findings are subject to an error margin of approximately ± 2-3 percent at the 95% confidence level.

Gallup and Gilani Pakistan, the local affiliate of Gallup International, released these findings as part of their ongoing efforts to gauge consumer interests and trends within the country. The data reflects a growing curiosity about electric motorcycles, though actual ownership remains limited.
