Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari, during a meeting with Pakistan Peoples Party leaders and workers at the Aiwan-e-Sadr on the occasion of Eid ul-Azha, called for focused efforts towards building a robust and self-reliant national economy.
The president, emphasizing the country’s potential for development, extended Eid greetings to the party members. He lauded the unwavering support of the workers, recognizing them as the backbone of the party, and encouraged them to continue their dedication to national progress.
Zardari highlighted the importance of agriculture as the foundation of the national economy, urging for its prioritization and the support of farmers to bolster economic stability.
Shifting focus to regional issues, President Zardari voiced concerns over the rise of extremism in India, noting the discrimination faced by minorities, especially Muslims and Christians. He warned that India’s Hindutva ideology poses risks to regional peace.
He further stressed the deep historical, religious, and cultural connections of Muslims in the subcontinent, urging collective efforts for the country’s development and prosperity.
