Lahore: Chanan Development Association (CDA), a national youth-led organization, has announced the launch of the third phase of its flagship program, Amn Rang (Colours of Peace). This initiative seeks to address gaps in social cohesion in Pakistan by supporting locally led solutions that enhance leadership and foster harmony among diverse groups.
Building on the success of the previous phases, Amn Rang Phase III will focus on three thematic pillars: resilience, inclusion, and cohesion. The program aims to tackle socio-economic and environmental challenges, including climate change and inequality, through community-driven projects.
CDA has called for Expressions of Interest (EoI) from grassroots organizations and self-help collectives across Pakistan. The initiative will offer mentorship and grants to 20 innovative community-led ideas, allowing them to implement projects for up to one year starting in July 2025.
The funding mechanism consists of small grants of up to Rs. 1,500,000 for registered grassroots civil society organizations (CSOs) and micro grants of up to Rs. 500,000 for informal self-help collectives.
Applicants are encouraged to submit complete applications with the necessary documentation before the deadline. The selection criteria emphasize the integrity, trust, and active community involvement of the organizations. Additionally, CDA encourages collaboration and the scaling up of tested locally-led models.
CDA’s initiative, since its inception in 2006, has focused on empowering youth through social, political, and economic inclusion. The Amn Rang program, introduced in 2020, has already supported 49 locally led initiatives, fostering resilience among youth, women, and minority groups.
The organization, however, reserves the right to amend the selection criteria or withdraw the call without prior notice. The submission of an idea does not guarantee selection or funding.
CDA’s efforts aim to strengthen grassroots movements, promote intergenerational dialogues, and create safe spaces for underrepresented communities, thereby contributing to a more cohesive and inclusive society in Pakistan.
