Lahore: Pakistan and Bangladesh are gearing up for an exciting three-match T20I series set to commence on Wednesday at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium. The series marks the return of international T20 cricket to the venue following a comprehensive renovation earlier this year.
Pakistan, led by Salman Ali Agha, will face Bangladesh under the captaincy of Litton Das. Both teams held their initial training session under the floodlights on Monday and will continue preparations with another session on Tuesday evening. The series is part of both teams’ preparations for the T20 World Cup next year.
The matches will begin at 8 p.m., with the toss scheduled for 7:30 p.m. local time. Gaddafi Stadium will host all three T20Is, with the second match on Friday and the final game on Sunday.
Historically, Pakistan has the upper hand in T20I encounters on home soil, having won three out of four matches against Bangladesh. The visiting team’s sole victory in a bilateral series came in 2015.
Salman Ali Agha, reflecting on the upcoming series, stated that the team is ready and carrying momentum from strong performances in the HBL PSL X. He encouraged fans to attend and support the matches.
Litton Das expressed confidence in Bangladesh’s preparations, noting that the series offers a valuable opportunity to test new combinations ahead of the T20 World Cup.
The Pakistan Cricket Board has announced a commentary panel featuring former players Aamir Sohail, Ramiz Raja, Bazid Khan, Athar Ali Khan, and Mike Haysman, with Zainab Abbas as the series presenter.
