SARGODHA: The University of Sargodha recently held a seminar focused on “Healthcare Innovation,” emphasizing the role of technology and creative solutions in addressing contemporary healthcare challenges and enhancing patient care.
Muhammad Saleem Qadeer, Chairman of Fitwell Hub, served as the chief guest. Other notable attendees included Director ORIC Prof. Dr. Ahmad Raza Bilal, Dean Faculty of Pharmacy Prof. Dr. Usman Minhas, and Career Development Officer Masooma Zahara, along with faculty members and students from the Allied Health Sciences and Pharmacy departments.
In his address, Mr. Saleem underscored the importance of incorporating innovation into healthcare systems, asserting that it is key to achieving sustainable and accessible care. He revealed Fitwell Hub’s collaboration with the university to establish a student-led Digital Clinic and a Central Healthcare Hub. These facilities are designed to improve healthcare education, promote hands-on learning, and offer telemedicine services, benefiting underserved communities.
Prof. Dr. Ahmad Raza Bilal highlighted the university’s dedication to research-driven innovation, crediting Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas’s leadership. He noted ongoing efforts to introduce new technologies and improve service delivery, making healthcare more inclusive and patient-centered.
Students actively engaged in a question-and-answer session, discussing challenges in Pakistan’s healthcare sector such as rural shortages of medical professionals and inadequate facilities. They proposed solutions like mobile clinics, health education campaigns, and AI diagnostics to enhance healthcare outcomes.
