Lahore: The University of Education, Lahore successfully concluded its Annual Sports Gala 2025 at the Township Campus, marking a vibrant celebration of athletic spirit and student participation across a spectrum of sports. The event, organized by the UE Directorate of Sports, emphasized inclusivity with special students competing in cricket, tug of war, sack race, and Ludo, underscoring the university’s commitment to an inclusive environment.

The closing ceremony featured Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Aqif Anwar Chaudhry and Chief Guest Aisam Ul-Haq Qureshi, an internationally recognized lawn tennis player. Aisam Ul-Haq highlighted the role of sports in developing essential skills such as teamwork and resilience among students, commending the university’s dedication to balancing sports with academic achievement.

Vice Chancellor Chaudhry expressed the importance of sports in shaping well-rounded individuals, noting their contribution to physical health, leadership, and responsibility. The sports gala, he emphasized, demonstrated the vital role of sports in promoting public health and unity.

Competitions included eight major sports: cricket, basketball, football, volleyball, badminton, table tennis, tug of war, and athletics, with athletics encompassing 10 categories. Events were held separately for male and female students, promoting equal opportunities for participation.

Trophies and prizes were awarded to victorious teams, and Prof. Dr. Muhammad Umer Saleem, Director of Sports, expressed gratitude to the organizing committee, faculty, and students for their efforts in ensuring the event’s success.
