Turbat: The University of Turbat, in partnership with UNICEF and the Government of Balochistan, organized a climate change awareness session on November 4, 2026. The event was hosted by student clubs, including the Green Youth Movement Club, aiming to empower students in climate action and eco-friendly practices.

According to University of Turbat, keynote speakers included Dr. Hameed Baloch and Dr. Aziz Ahmed from Lasbela University, Mr. Faraz Gichki, UNICEF Provincial Field Coordinator, and Dr. Haneef Ur Rehman, Dean of the Faculty of Science, Engineering and IT. They highlighted the critical role of youth in addressing issues such as water mismanagement, deforestation, and greenhouse gas emissions. Faculty members Dr. Abdul Qayyum, Dr. Ghulam Jan, and Ms. Samina Faqeer also contributed to discussions about climate change causes, prevention, and impacts.

The session concluded with a quiz and prize distribution. University spokesperson noted that the speakers met with Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Gul Hasan, who commended the event's organizers and reaffirmed the university's commitment to climate action through student engagement.
