Theater Festival in Karachi Concludes with Successful 21-Day Run

Karachi: The 21-day “Public Theater Festival,” organized by the Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi, concluded successfully, drawing significant audiences and receiving widespread acclaim. On the 13th day of the festival, the theater drama “Rishte” was performed, showcasing the talents of writer and director Zakir Mastana and a cast that included Shakeel Shah, Parvez Siddiqui, Sapna Ghazal, and others.

According to Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi, “Rishte” depicted a complex narrative involving themes of wealth, relationships, and the consequences of greed. The plot revolved around a servant who aspires to act in movies, a dynamic that interweaves with a rich-poor marriage, a sister’s return from a hostel, and the unfolding of love and deception. The drama culminated with a moral that emphasizes the value of relationships over material wealth. The performance was well-received, with a large number of attendees applauding the artists’ efforts.
