AKUH Celebrates World Children’s Day with Week-Long Festivities

Karachi: The Aga Khan University Hospital (AKUH) celebrated World Children’s Day with a week-long series of events designed to promote children’s health and well-being. The celebrations highlighted AKUH’s ongoing commitment to enhancing the health and future prospects of children.

According to Aga Khan University, the festivities began with a cake-cutting ceremony in the Paediatric Ward’s play area. The event was led by Dr. Fyezah Jehan, Chair of Paediatrics and Child Health, and Dr. Ali Faisal Saleem, Vice Chair of Paediatrics and Child Health. This ceremony aimed to uplift the spirits of young patients and their families, showcasing AKUH’s focus on providing comprehensive support that includes both medical care and emotional encouragement. The day’s activities also included face painting sessions and a magic show for the children.

On November 19, students from several Karachi schools, including Habib Public School, Dawood Public School, and Sultan Mahomed Shah Aga Khan School, took part in a speech competition. The competition featured debates on topics such as vaccination and brain drain. The event concluded with a Basic Life Support workshop, offering students valuable lifesaving skills.
