Bahawalpur: The Islamia University of Bahawalpur (IUB) has announced an upcoming PhD open defense at its Department of Biochemistry, Biotechnology and Bioinformatics. The defense, scheduled for September 27, 2024, at the Jinnah Auditorium, will feature Muhammad Umair, a doctoral scholar presenting his research on the molecular characterization of Parkinson’s disease in the Pakistani population.
According to The Islamia University of Bahawalpur Pakistan, the event will include evaluations by notable academics, including Prof. Dr. Ali Muhammad Waryah from Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences as the external examiner. The research aims to provide insights into the genetic aspects of Parkinson’s disease among Pakistanis, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Muhammad Iqbal, Chairman of Biotechnology and Director of the institute.
The university community and interested members of the public are invited to attend the defense, which promises to contribute significantly to the understanding of this neurological condition within a local context.
