Saqlain Mushtaq to Mentor Panthers in Upcoming Champions One-Day Cup

Lahore: Saqlain Mushtaq has been named as the mentor for the Panthers in the Champions One-Day Cup scheduled to be held in Faisalabad from September 12 to 29, 2024. The Panthers, gearing up for the competition, will train at the Inzamam-ul-Haq Cricket Academy in Multan throughout the 2024-25 domestic cricket season.

According to Pakistan Cricket Board, Saqlain Mushtaq, recognized for his pioneering cricket techniques and illustrious career milestones, will lead the Panthers. The tournament will showcase the top 150 cricketers in the country in a 50-over single-league format, culminating in three playoff matches and the final on September 29.

The Panthers are set to open their campaign against Misbah-ul-Haq’s Wolves on the first day of the tournament, with subsequent matches against the Dolphins, Lions, and Shoaib Malik’s Stallions. Saqlain expressed enthusiasm for his role, emphasizing the Champions One-Day Cup’s significance as a crucial development phase for players aiming for national selection.
