Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 Fixtures Announced, UAE to Host

Dubai: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has released the updated groups and fixtures for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024, which has been relocated from Bangladesh to the United Arab Emirates. Scheduled for October, the tournament will feature matches in Dubai and Sharjah, showcasing top international teams competing over 23 matches.

According to International Cricket Council, the tournament will retain its original group formations despite the change in location. Group A includes six-time champion Australia, 2020 runners-up India, New Zealand, and Asian teams Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Group B comprises South Africa, England, West Indies, Bangladesh, and Scotland. The teams will play four group matches each, with the top two from each group advancing to the semi-finals on October 17 and 18, followed by the final in Dubai on October 20. Reserve days have been scheduled for both the semi-finals and the final to accommodate any disruptions.

The event will kick off with 10 warm-up matches starting from September 28 through October 1, preparing the teams for the main competition. The tournament officially begins on October 3 with Bangladesh facing Scotland in Sharjah. Notable matches include a high-stakes clash between India and Pakistan on October 6 in Dubai, and the Trans-Tasman face-off between Australia and New Zealand on October 8 in Sharjah.

The final is set for October 20 in Dubai, concluding what promises to be a highly competitive tournament featuring the best in women’s cricket on a global stage.
