Karachi: Rafiq Khaskheli, Vice Chairman of the Pasban Democratic Party, has accused the People’s Party of significantly damaging the education system in Sindh, alleging that their prolonged governance has neglected the educational needs of the region’s new generation.
According to Pasban Democratic Party, the People’s Party, having governed Sindh for over three decades, has deliberately deprived the youth of proper education to maintain control over resources and enforce dependence. Khaskheli highlighted that despite constitutional obligations to provide basic education, many government schools in Sindh lack essential facilities and environments conducive to learning. He criticized the prevalence of “ghost teachers” who, he claims, earn salaries without engaging in actual teaching, contributing to the deterioration of trust in public educational institutions.
The statement also touched on broader systemic issues, including the alleged mismanagement of funds earmarked for education, leading to widespread inefficiency and corruption within the sector. Khaskheli called for a revolutionary overhaul of the Pakistani education system, advocating for the abolition of the class-based system and the implementation of uniform educational policies across the country to ensure merit-based, corruption-free, and modern education.
