Rawalpindi: The Punjab Arts Council recently hosted a two-day digital art exhibition titled “Historical Places of Pakistan” as part of the Independence Day festivities. The event, held at the council’s venue, featured 60 digital artworks by 30 students from the council’s graphic designing class.
According to Punjab Arts Council, the exhibition was inaugurated by former Director of the Arts Council, Naheed Manzoor, and Waqar Ahmed, who served as the chief guests. Sajjad Hussain, the current Director of the Arts Council, alongside Deputy Director Muhammad Shakoor and Assistant Director Muhammad Suleman, also attended the event. The exhibit aimed to highlight the rich heritage of Pakistan through the lens of digital art, underscoring the importance of cultural preservation and the role of art in enhancing social and intellectual fabric.
During the event, Waqar Ahmed spoke on the intrinsic value of art and culture in society, describing them as the soul of any civilization and a crucial expression of human emotion and creativity. Sajjad Hussain noted the council’s commitment to not only preserving but also passing on Punjab’s cultural legacy to future generations. The event concluded with a ceremony where certificates of appreciation were awarded to participating students, celebrating their contributions to promoting Pakistan’s historical heritage through digital media.
