NUMS Hosts Key Session on Institutional Performance Evaluation in Rawalpindi

Rawalpindi: The National University of Medical Sciences (NUMS) held an awareness session on Review of Institutional Performance and Evaluation (RIPE) at Army Medical College on July 5, focusing on introducing a new quality assurance framework. The session was attended by high-level academic and administrative leaders, including the Pro Vice Chancellor and Principal/Dean of Army Medical College, and aimed to enhance understanding of the new standards and expectations set forth by higher education authorities.

According to National University of Medical Sciences, the Quality Assurance (QA) Directorate organized the event to educate participants about the latest framework developed in collaboration with the Quality Assurance Agency of the UK Higher Education Commission and the British Council. Key stakeholders such as Deans and Heads of NUMS Directorates and Departments were present, along with top management from the Army Medical College.

Air Commodore Muhammad Ismail (SI), Retired, led the presentation, outlining the purpose and detailed standards of RIPE, including Expectation Outcome indicators (EOIs) and the evidences required to meet these expectations. His presentation was met with significant interest and led to a dynamic interaction among the attendees, who raised numerous questions.

The session concluded with a productive question and answer segment. Air Commodore Ismail expressed his gratitude towards the attendees for their support and active participation in discussing the implementation of the new quality assurance framework at NUMS. Both general officers also engaged in answering queries, further clarifying the preparatory requirements for conducting RIPE assessments within the institution.
