Hyderabad Group Plans Protest Against Supreme Court Decision on Mubarak Sani Case

Hyderabad: A significant protest is scheduled for Sunday, July 28, 2024, at 2 PM in front of the Hyderabad Press Club, organized by local religious leaders who are contesting a recent Supreme Court decision. The demonstration is in response to the ruling in the Mubarak Sani case, which has stirred strong reactions from various community segments.

According to Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Pakistan, the call for protest was solidified during a meeting led by Qari Ghulam Sarwar Amini, the district president. The gathering also marked the golden jubilee celebration of the belief in Khatman Nabub, the finality of prophethood, a core tenet contested in the court’s decision. Amini emphasized that the community is prepared to make any necessary sacrifices to uphold this belief, urging the Supreme Court to align its judgments more closely with the Quran and Sunnah, and criticized concessions made to the Qadiani community, a non-Muslim minority as declared in 1974.

The protest underscores a broader call for the enforcement of laws related to religious declarations and comes amid plans for a larger conference on the same theme in Hyderabad. This event is part of a nationwide effort to reinforce religious doctrines that community leaders feel are under threat.
