WIPO Launches Young Experts Program to Foster Global IP Leaders

Geneva: The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) has introduced the Young Experts Program (YEP), designed to train and develop the next generation of global Intellectual Property (IP) leaders. This initiative aims to bolster innovation ecosystems worldwide by enhancing the skills and capabilities of young professionals in the IP field.

According to Pak NGOs, the YEP is a two-year, competitive program that will select 10 young and talented professionals to engage directly with WIPO’s various initiatives. The program provides a comprehensive learning experience, covering both the technical and strategic aspects of IP, which are crucial for the participants’ future roles in contributing to the economic growth of their home countries and regions.

The program emphasizes that participation in the YEP is not a pathway to employment at WIPO, but rather a platform to develop leaders who will drive IP innovations globally. Participants will receive a monthly stipend of 5,000 Swiss Francs, partial coverage of medical insurance, accident insurance, travel expense contributions, and assistance with visa and accommodation needs in Switzerland.
