University of Turbat’s Vice Chancellor Discusses Challenges with Governor Balochistan in Quetta

Quetta, In a significant meeting on April 15, 2024, Prof. Dr. Jan Muhammad, Vice Chancellor of the University of Turbat, along with other public sector university vice-chancellors, met with Governor Balochistan Malik Abdul Wali Khan Kakar at the Governor’s House. The discussions focused on the financial health and academic challenges of the universities in the region.

According to University of Turbat, Dr. Muhammad briefed Governor Kakar on the University of Turbat’s financial situation, its achievements, and both academic and infrastructural developments, along with various challenges it faces. In response, Governor Kakar emphasized the importance of all public universities in Balochistan working towards self-sustainability and academic enhancement. He urged the vice-chancellors to adopt a national and collective approach, sidelining personal interests to achieve these goals.

Governor Kakar highlighted the integral role of universities in shaping future generations and stressed the development of a comprehensive strategy to address the financial, administrative, and academic issues permanently. He committed to supporting the resolution of these challenges and mandated all vice-chancellors to ensure merit-based appointments and promotions, as well as active class monitoring.

Dr. Muhammad expressed his gratitude towards Governor Kakar for his dedication to resolving the issues faced by the universities, marking a collaborative effort to forge a promising future for higher education in Balochistan.
