Jamshoro, 16 Oct 2023: Mehran University of Engineering and Technology, Jamshoro, celebrated its 3rd edition of TEDxMUET on October 9, 2023. The event, known for fostering intellectual discourse, was marked by a series of talks from dynamic speakers discussing topics ranging from education to environmental preservation.
Prof. Dr. Tauha Hussain Ali, Vice-Chancellor, MUET, initiated the proceedings with a welcome speech. The audience was then treated to insights from Dr. Rahim Bux Bhatti, Director of GIMS, about the advancements in medical science in Pakistan. Mr. Masood Lohar, CEO of Clifton Urban Forest, emphasized the significance of urban green spaces and the pressing need for sustainable practices. Ms. Hira Khan, recognized for her dedication to animal welfare in Hyderabad, recounted her journey of rescuing and rehabilitating animals. Another notable talk was by Mr. Adil Ghani, who, despite being blind, spoke about overcoming adversities to achieve his ambitions. Ms. Sadaf Raza Warraich narrated her brave encounter with cancer and how it inspired many, while Mr. Agha Shakeel, Founder of Coin The Education, concluded the day’s presentations by discussing innovative approaches to education.
In addition to the thought leadership presented, attendees were entertained by a musical performance and a theatrical drama presented by MUET students. Prof. Dr. Zeeshan Khatri wrapped up the event, emphasizing the importance of platforms like TEDxMUET in cultivating innovation and encouraging societal advancement.
Of note, TEDxMUET 2023 was officially sanctioned by TED, adhering to TEDx’s rigorous standards and guidelines. The license was awarded to Engr. Salman ul Mouzam Abbasi, the founder and advisory board member of TEDxMUET, in acknowledgment of his commitment to TEDx’s objective of disseminating transformative ideas.
