Karachi, 14 Oct 2023: Habib Girls School, City School PAF, Karachi Grammar School, and Elite Netball Academy clinched the titles for the U-13, U-17, U-19, and Open Women Category, respectively, at the PNF Netball Cup 2023. The Pakistan Netball Federation, in collaboration with the Pakistan Sports Board, organized this sporting event, which took place at the PSB Coaching Centre, Karachi, from 9th to 12th October 2023.
The U-13 final witnessed Habib Girls School overcoming Karachi Grammar School with a narrow win of 3-2 goals. Trinity Girls School bagged the 3rd position in this category. In the U-15 category, Habib Girls School secured another victory against Karachi Grammar School with a score of 9-8. For the U-17 title, City School PAF triumphed over Karachi Grammar School, finishing 10-8. St. Joseph Girls College settled for the 3rd spot. The U-19 final was an internal contest between Karachi Grammar School (Green) and Karachi Grammar School (White). The former emerged victorious, scoring 7-4, with Habib Girls School taking the 3rd place.
In the Open Women Category final, Elite Netball Academy outperformed IOBM University with a score of 23-28 goals. Interestingly, the 3rd position was also secured by the Elite Netball Academy. For the Open Boys Category, IOBM University bested Whales College, concluding the match with 15-12 in their favour.
The closing ceremony had Mr. Mudassar Arain, the President of the Pakistan Netball Federation, as the Chief Guest. He distributed trophies, medals, certificates, and prizes to the participating players and teams. Syed Gohar Raza, Muhammad Riaz, Muhammad Sohail, and other dignitaries also graced the occasion. Mr. Arain highlighted the federation’s commitment to providing comprehensive training to players, preparing them for success at the international level.
Several technical officials, including Anwar Ahmed, Yasir, Adnan Ghouri, and many others, officiated the matches, ensuring the smooth execution of the tournament.
