Dr Hasan Murad School of Management Holds Doctoral Conference 2023

Lahore, March 06, 2023 (PPI-OT): Dr Hasan Murad School of Management (HSM) at the University of Management and Technology (UMT) organized a two-day doctoral conference on sustainable development goals and doctoral research. Prof Dr Shahid Munir, Chairperson Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC) was the chief guest of the conference.

 

Dean Dr Hasan Murad School of Management Dr Naveed Yazdani, Dr Mujahid Kamran, Dr Farrah Arif, VC University of Education Professor Talat Naseer Pasha, Fatima Asad Said, national and international experts, researchers and scholars including large number of faculty and students also attended the doctoral conference.

 

More than 31 research papers on development goals and the latest trends in doctoral research were presented at the conference. Addressing the conference, Dean HSM Dr Naveed Yazdani welcomed all the guests and shared how important it is to hold such conferences to resolve the current challenges. He emphasized the importance of doctoral research in shaping the future of management.

 

Prof Dr Shahid Munir, Chairperson Punjab Higher Education Commission while addressing the conference congratulated the team of HSM and the management of UMT for organizing a successful conference. Dr Shahid Munir, highlighting the challenges faced, said that the solution to all our local and national problems depends on modern doctoral research.

 

He said that unless we spread the culture of research in our educational institutions and other departments, the goals of sustainable development cannot be met. He added that promoting collaboration through research in both academia and industry has become the need of the hour.

 

Other speakers engaged in lively discussions and debates, sharing their experiences and insights with the audience. They all agreed that only through research can we find solutions to all the challenges and meet sustainable development goals. At the end of the session, Dr Naveed Yazdani along with Dr. Farrah presented souvenirs to Prof. Dr. Shahid Munir and other guests.

Punjab University School of Biological Sciences organizes international conference

Lahore, March 06, 2023 (PPI-OT): Punjab University School of Biological Sciences has kicked off three-day international conference on “Trends in Biological Sciences” at Law College Auditorium here on Monday. On this occasion, Chairman Pakistan Science Foundation Prof Dr Shahid Baig, Director General School of Biological Sciences Prof Dr Sadaf Naz, nationally and internationally renowned scientists, researchers, faculty members and a large number of students were present.

 

In his address, Dr Shahid Baig lauded the efforts of the organizers for organizing such a meaningful conference. He said that the scientists of the SBS were playing their role in research on modern trends in relevant fields. He said that more investment is needed to deal with the challenges faced by the science sector in the country and to promote a world-class research culture. While welcoming the guests, Dr Sadaf Naz said that the purpose of the conference was to provide a platform to the scientists where they can share their experiences with each other.

 

She said that the School of Biological Sciences has been playing its role in research on genetic disorders, environmental pollution, infectious diseases, cancer treatment, bio-pharmaceutical products, industrial enzymes and local problems of sustainable agriculture for the last two decades. The first director of SBS Prof Dr Muhammad Akhtar addressed the participants online. Later, souvenirs were presented to the distinguished guests.

NorCross and PRCS work together to provide healthcare facilities to flood victims in Sindh

Karachi, March 06, 2023 (PPI-OT): The Pakistan Red Crescent Society, with Norwegian Red Cross (NorCross) Support, has initiated two Mobile Health Teams (MHT) performing outreach medical services in Jacobabad and Jamshoro @ Sehwan. These mobile health teams will help in restoring basic healthcare delivery and critical public health functions for the affected population, which has been cut off from essential health services.

 

MHT in Jacobabad was initiated on 2nd January 2023 and has reached out to 3379 beneficiaries in curative health services and 4624 beneficiaries in health awareness sessions. Meanwhile, MHT Sehwan has just started its operations in the flood-affected villages.

 

By far the most commonly seen health conditions include respiratory tract infections, malnutrition, and diarrhea and skin diseases. Along with the treatment and free medicines, these mobile health teams are conducting health awareness sessions in the community to raise knowledge of disease prevention, good hygiene, and health practices.

Karachi, March 06, 2023 (PPI-OT): Chairman Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has extended warm greetings to Pakistani Hindu communities as well as all those celebrating Holi, the festival of colours, across the globe. According to the statement issued by Media Cell Bilawal House, Chairman PPP said in his message that the Holi festival is a symbol of eternal victory of truth over falsehood, promotion of brotherhood in the society and forgetting bitterness and moving forward.

 

Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that Pakistani Hindu community has always played proudful role in country’s progress, development and nation-building. Chairman PPP said that the Constitution of 1973, which is a great gift to the nation from the country’s first elected Prime Minister Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, ensuring equal rights to all citizens, including minorities in Pakistan.

 

He said that uprooting all kinds of discrimination, promoting tolerance and establishing a society based on equality is the motto of PPP. “Being the only torch bearer of the ideology of founding ancestors of our nation, PPP reiterates with its unwavering commitment to inter-faith harmony in the country,” he added.
