Faculty of Pharmacy Organized a session on “Pharmacy Practice: Insight into Core Competencies of a Successful Pharmacy Student” 

Islamabad, June 25, 2021 (PPI-OT):Faculty of Pharmacy organized a seminar on “Pharmacy Practice: Insight into Core Competencies of a Successful Pharmacy Student.” Guest speaker was Mr. Muhammad Anwar who completed his Bachelors of Pharmacy from Baqai Medical University in Karachi in 2000 and completed his Masters in Clinical Pharmacy from Sains University Malaysia.

 

Mr. Mohammad Anwar worked as a Lecturer at department of Pharmacy practice and clinical pharmacy UiTM Malaysia for 12 years. As a Lecturer, he taught various subjects including Clinical Pharmacokinetics, Applied Therapeutics in Hematopoietic, Neurological, Rehumatologic and Psychiatric Disorders, Applied Therapeutics in Gastrointestinal, Renal and Endocrine disorders, Applied Therapeutics in Infectious Diseases and Neoplastic disorders, Applied Therapeutics in Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Disorders.

 

Mr. Mohammad Anwar supervised many Projects such as FYP projects, Communication Psychology and Medication Therapy Adherence Clinic. He remained as a member of Curriculum development under Pharmacy Practice, UiTM, Malaysia. Mr. Mohammad Anwar has more than 40 research publication in the journal of international Repute. Honourable guest was presented university shield by Dr. Muzaffar Abbas, Dean Faculty of Pharmacy.

ICC congratulates the Black Caps: The inaugural World Test Champions

Dubai, June 25, 2021 (PPI-OT):The International Cricket Council (ICC) congratulates the Black Caps on winning the inaugural ICC World Test Championship beating India in a riveting final at the Hampshire Bowl in Southampton. It is the first major ICC trophy for the New Zealand cricket team since 2000 and an incredibly tight game saw New Zealand bowl out India for 170 in the second innings, leaving them 139 to chase for victory.

 

Geoff Allardice, ICC Acting CEO said, “I would like to congratulate the first ever World Test Champions, the Black Caps who displayed the skill and temperament required to be the best Test team in the world. I would also like to congratulate the Indian team, who performed so consistently to qualify for the Final and came so close to winning it. Both teams showed their quality and it was a simply outstanding game of Test cricket that will live long in the memories of cricket fans around the world, also played in a great spirit that highlighted the mutual respect between the teams.

Rizwan to captain Team of HBL PSL 6

 

Abu Dhabi, June 25, 2021 (PPI-OT):Pakistan Cricket Board today announced the Team of HBL Pakistan Super League 6, which includes three players each from Islamabad United and Multan Sultans, two players each from Lahore Qalandars and Peshawar Zalmi, and one player from Karachi Kings.

 

The Team of HBL PSL 6 was selected by the distinguished and highly respected former international cricketers and commentators, including David Gower, Pommie Mbangwa, Ramiz Raja and Sana Mir. The session was chaired by Nadeem Khan, Director- High Performance and Chairman of the Event Technical Committee.

 

Multan Sultans’ Mohammad Rizwan was named captain after he inspired and motivated his side to jump from fifth position after 14 Karachi-leg matches to second position following the conclusion of the 30-league matches. Sultans clinched their maiden HBL PSL title beating Peshawar Zalmi by 47 runs in the final.

 

Rizwan finished the tournament with 500 runs with four half-centuries from 12 matches at an average of 45.45 and strike-rate of 127.87. He also accounted for 20 batsmen behind the wickets to win the Best wicketkeeper of HBL PSL 6 award.

 

Rizwan is the third different captain of the Team of HBL PSL since the initiative began in 2019. Sarfaraz Ahmed was named captain in 2019, while Shadab Khan was nominated captain for the 2020 side.

 

Off the 11 playing members selected based on their contributions as well as the impact of their performances on team results, Asif Ali, Babar Azam, Hasan Ali, Shaheen Shah Afridi and Wahab Riaz have been selected for the second time, while Babar and Shaheen are the only two players who have retained their places from the 2020 side.

 

Babar has been chosen to open the innings with Afghanistan’s explosive batsman Hazratullah Zazai, with Colin Munro, Sohaib Maqsood, Mohammad Rizwan and Asif Ali to form the middle-order.

 

Wahab Riaz will lead the bowlers’ pack that also includes Hasan Ali, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Shahnawaz Dahani and Rashid Khan of Afghanistan.

White (24%) and Black (17%) appear as the favourite colours of Pakistanis: Gallup and Gilani Pakistan

 

Islamabad, June 25, 2021 (PPI-OT):According to a survey conducted by Gallup and Gilani Pakistan, White and black are most commonly cited as favourite colours.

 

A nationally representative sample of adult men and women from across the four provinces was asked the following question, “What is your favourite colour?” In response to this question, 24% said White, 17% said black, 10% said Red, 10% said Blue, 9% said Green, 7% said Pink, 5% said sky blue, 2% said yellow, 1% said brown, 1% said purple, 5% said all colours, 4% said none, 3% said others and 2% did not know/did not respond.
