Karachi: Sindh reported a voter turnout of 38.3% for its Provincial Assembly in the 2002 General Elections, with 6.18 million votes cast out of 16.14 million registered voters. According to Free and Fair Election Network, the gender composition of Sindh's registered voters included 8.77 million males, representing 54.3% of the electorate, and 7.38 million females, making up 45.7%. The election saw 140,982 ballots rejected, accounting for 2.3% of the total votes. Sindh's rejection rates have varied in past elections, with higher rates noted in 2013 and 2018. Over the years, Sindh's electorate has grown significantly, from 5.3 million in 1970 to an anticipated 27.0 million in 2024. The highest voter turnout recorded was 60.7% in 1988, while the lowest was 29% in 1997.
