Dubai: President Asif Ali Zardari met with H.E. Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Group Chairman and CEO of DP World, in Dubai today, focusing on enhancing Pakistan's logistics and infrastructure capabilities. The discussions highlighted the strategic importance of Pakistan's geographic location and its role as a regional trade hub.
According to Pakistan Peoples Party, the meeting underscored the evolving engagement between Pakistan and DP World, emphasizing recent inter-governmental agreements that reflect a mutual commitment to strengthening ties. President Zardari praised DP World's contribution to Pakistan's port operations and infrastructure development.
Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem discussed Pakistan's critical position in global trade, citing its connectivity with China, Central Asia, and access to the Arabian Sea. He reiterated the UAE's commitment to supporting Pakistan's role as a key trade link. President Zardari assured ongoing governmental support for partner enterprises, focusing on rail freight modernization and integrated logistics. Pakistan's Ambassador to the UAE also attended the meeting.
