Lahore: The chairman of the Intellectual Property Organization of Pakistan, Professor Dr. Aziz-ur-Rehman, visited the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore to discuss research, innovation, and the promotion of intellectual property rights. The visit highlighted UET Lahore's initiatives in fostering entrepreneurship among students and strengthening collaboration with IPO-Pakistan.

According to University of Engineering and Technology, the meeting involved discussions between Professor Dr. Aziz-ur-Rehman and UET Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Shahid Munir, focusing on areas such as research commercialization, technology transfer, and the protection of intellectual property. The visit also included a briefing by Dr. Mohsin Ali Kazmi, Director of the Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC), and Farhan Mahmood, Manager of the UET Incubation Centre, showcasing UET's efforts in supporting student-led startups and patent filing.

The discussions emphasized the importance of intellectual property protection and transforming research into commercially viable products and services. Vice Chancellor Munir noted the university's commitment to linking academic research with industry and entrepreneurship, while also announcing plans to publish a book featuring successful UET alumni to inspire future entrepreneurs.
