Karachi: The IBA Center for Business and Economic Research has released its annual publication, "The State of Pakistan's Economy 2026-27: Stagnation to Sustainability," aimed at addressing the nation's economic challenges and exploring paths to sustainable growth. The launch event, hosted at IBA's Main Campus, gathered policymakers, academics, business leaders, and students to discuss the report's findings and implications for Pakistan's economy.
According to Center For Information and Communication Technologies, the publication was reviewed by a panel that included Zafar Masud, President and CEO of the Bank of Punjab, and Nadia Seth, CEO of the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority. Masud emphasized the need for macroeconomic stability to enhance living standards and promote poverty reduction. He advocated for effective implementation, innovative financing, and public-private partnerships. Seth focused on improving SME productivity through modernization and better access to finance, highlighting the necessity of reliable enterprise data for evidence-based policymaking.
The event concluded with a call for translating economic stability into sustainable and inclusive growth, underscoring the significance of the publication in fostering informed policy dialogue by integrating research and perspectives from various sectors.
