Bilawal Bhutto Zardari Honors Teachers on World Teachers’ Day, Calls for Improved Conditions

KARACHI: Chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, extended his congratulations to teachers nationwide on the occasion of World Teachers' Day, emphasizing the vital role they play in shaping the future of Pakistan.

According to a press release issued by Media Cell BilawalHouse, the PPP Chairman acknowledged the fundamental contributions of teachers in his message, highlighting their hard work and sacrifices as the bedrock of Pakistan's promising future. He noted that teachers do more than impart curriculum; they foster awareness, encourage inquisitiveness, and empower students to contribute to a better society.

Chairman Bhutto Zardari underscored the state's obligation to ensure teachers receive respect, adequate facilities, professional autonomy, and a supportive environment. He advocated for increased investment in quality education and the welfare of teachers, describing it as an investment in the nation's future. He also urged for salary increases, particularly for teachers in private institutions, along with job security and an effective system to guarantee their fundamental rights.

He reiterated that education has always been a central focus for the PPP, referencing the 1973 Constitution, which identified education as a fundamental right under the leadership of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto. He also mentioned the vision of Benazir Bhutto to provide equitable, high-quality education to every child, noting the expansion of educational institutions as a consistent priority for every PPP government.
