UET Lahore Enhances Mining Engineering Department with Major Upgrades

LAHORE: The University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Lahore, has completed significant renovation and upgradation work at the Department of Mining Engineering, furthering its commitment to enhancing academic infrastructure and the learning environment. The Vice Chancellor inaugurated the newly refurbished areas, including revamped lawns and entrance, as well as freshly painted classrooms and the department building.

According to University of Engineering and Technology, the Vice Chancellor reviewed the updated facilities and recognized efforts to improve the department's appearance and functionality. The upgrades are part of UET Lahore's focus on fostering a modern, well-maintained academic environment for students and faculty.

The Chairman of the Department of Mining Engineering briefed the Vice Chancellor on ongoing projects, which include five industrial collaborations, an updated industry-oriented curriculum, and new courses in mining and mineral processing. These initiatives aim to strengthen ties between industry and academia.

Additionally, the department has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Mineral Processing Lab at ASCEND Tower, Islamabad. This partnership focuses on promoting applied research, technical training, and practical learning, enhancing opportunities for students and faculty.

The visit also marked the inauguration of a new Girls Common Room at the Department of Geological Engineering, reflecting the University's efforts to improve student amenities and provide inclusive campus spaces.

These developments underscore UET Lahore's ongoing commitment to upgrading academic infrastructure, strengthening industry linkages, and promoting practical education, all aimed at creating a conducive learning environment.
