Army Deployment in Rawalpindi Triggers Criticism from PTI

Karachi: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Karachi General Secretary, Arsalan Khalid, has voiced strong opposition to the recent deployment of the army in Rawalpindi, describing it as an indication of government panic. In a statement, Khalid claimed that the ruling coalition is fearful of PTI's impending peaceful long march.

According to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Khalid argued that the government's decision to invoke Article 245 and employ state institutions to suppress public dissent is a political maneuver that threatens democratic principles. He affirmed that PTI members from Karachi to Rawalpindi are prepared to heed the call of their leader, Imran Khan, and stressed that the planned march towards Islamabad will adhere to constitutional and legal frameworks.

Khalid accused the government of attempting to disrupt the protest by creating instability in the country, alleging that involving the military in political matters undermines national institutions. He expressed confidence that the movement for "Haqeeqi Azadi" or true freedom will achieve its objectives, asserting that the government's attempts to obstruct their democratic right to protest peacefully will ultimately fail.
