Zone Teams Triumph in Khan Surshim Karachi Senior Cricket Tournament

Karachi, The Khan Surshim Karachi Region Senior Inter-District Cricket Tournament saw remarkable performances as Zone Seven Whites, Zone Five Whites, Zone Two Blues, and Zone Four Reds secured victories in their respective matches. The tournament, which showcases the cricketing talent in the region, was highlighted by a brilliant century from Qadir Khan and aggressive bowling by Fazullah.

According to Regional Cricket Association Karachi, the day’s play began with Zone Seven Whites posting a commanding 287 runs against Zone Three Green at the Eastern Star Ground. Qadir Khan’s spectacular innings of 121 runs was the cornerstone of their total, supported by valuable contributions from Aftab Khan, Majeed Khan, and Najibur Rahman. Despite efforts from Haider Bangash, who scored 76 runs for Zone Three Green, they were bowled out for 145, falling short by 142 runs.

The action continued at Landhi Gymkhana Ground, where Zone Five Whites chased down a target of 164 runs set by Zone One Reds with ease, winning by 7 wickets. Akbar Babar’s half-century for Zone One Reds was overshadowed by a solid batting performance from Zone Five Whites, with Hassan Khan leading the chase.

At Young Fighter Ground, Zone Two Blues amassed 218 runs, thanks to a strong opening by Obaid Khan. Zone One Green, in response, was restricted to 167 runs, with Syed Fazullah’s bowling proving decisive as he took 5 wickets for 38 runs.

The day concluded with Zone Four Reds setting a total of 236 runs against Zone Five Greens. The match was closely contested, but Zone Five Greens were eventually bowled out for 200 runs, handing Zone Four Reds a 36-run victory.
