Zone-III Whites and Zone-VI Blues Secure Second Wins in U-19 Cricket

Karachi: Zone-III Whites and Zone-VI Blues achieved their second consecutive victories in the Medicam Trophy Under-19 Inter Zonal Cricket Tournament, with Zone-II Whites also registering a win at various cricket grounds across the city.

A historic moment unfolded as ICC Panel Umpire Salima Imtiaz became the first female to officiate a match in Karachi’s cricket history. She supervised the game between Zone-III Whites and Zone-VII Blues at KCCA Stadium, alongside Shahid Aslam. Zone-III Whites triumphed over Zone-VII Blues by seven wickets, with Zone-VII managing 142 all out in 36.2 overs. Sahil scored 51, while M. Zunair Ali Khan took four wickets for 13 runs. In their chase, Zone-III Whites reached 145 for three in 24.3 overs, aided by Salman Sarwar’s 67 not out and M. Zunair Ali Khan’s 30 not out.

In another match, Zone-II Whites defeated Zone-I Blues by 78 runs at Annu Bhai Park Ground. Zone-II Whites posted a total of 241 all out in 39.4 overs, with notable contributions from Zain Jaffery and Rasheed Yaseen. Zone-I Blues were bowled out for 163 in 29.1 overs. Zain Jaffery was awarded the Medicam Man of the Match for his performance.

Zone-VI Blues clinched their second consecutive win by defeating Zone-V Whites by 51 runs at Landhi Gymkhana. Zone-VI set a target of 214 for nine in 40 overs, with Malik-e-Ashtar scoring 81. Zone-V managed to reach 163 for nine in their allotted 40 overs. Muhammad Hasnain was named Medicam Man of the Match for his five-wicket haul.
