Harare: Zimbabwe Cricket has announced that the national women's team will host the West Indies for a historic three-match ODI series and a subsequent T20I series, marking the first bilateral series between the two teams across formats. According to International Cricket Council, the ODI series is scheduled to take place at the Harare Sports Club from September 24 to 30, followed by the T20I series at the Takashinga Cricket Club from October 3 to 7.
The series adds to an already busy schedule for Zimbabwe, who have recently toured New Zealand and Pakistan as part of the Women's Championship and are currently engaged in a T20I series against South Africa. Zimbabwe is positioned 10th in the Women's Championship Standings, having lost all six of their matches in the current cycle. Meanwhile, the West Indies, ranked fifth, come into the series after a clean sweep against Ireland.
The matches are set to provide both teams with crucial opportunities to improve their standings in the Women's Championship and gain valuable experience in the lead-up to future international commitments.
