Workshop on Bio-Pesticides in Vector Control Concludes at UVAS


Lahore: A two-day workshop on “Bio-pesticides in Vector Control” concluded at the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore, focusing on bio-pesticides and their role in controlling vector-borne diseases. The event was organized by the Department of Parasitology at UVAS, in collaboration with the Pakistan Society of Parasitology and the Pakistan Science Foundation.



According to the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, the workshop’s concluding ceremony was presided over by UVAS Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Masood Rabbani, who distributed certificates to participants and resource persons. The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Science Prof. Dr. Kamran Ashraf, Prof. Dr. Ali Ahmad Sheikh, Prof. Dr. Haroon Akbar, and Dr. Muhammad Oneeb, along with participants and researchers.



During the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Masood Rabbani emphasized the importance of practical and theoretical learning for students in their respective fields. He highlighted the need for students to gain experience in laboratory work, quality control, and other professional skills to better prepare for future job opportunities. The workshop covered various topics related to vector-borne diseases, bio-pesticides, molecular and nano approaches, and their applications and evaluations.
