LAHORE: The University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) in Lahore recently held an oath-taking ceremony for its newly elected Non-Teaching Staff Association (NTSA) office-bearers at the City Campus. The event, presided over by Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr. Masood Rabbani, was attended by several notable guests and university officials.
According to University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr. Masood Rabbani administered the oath to the new NTSA leadership. The ceremony featured Member Provincial Assembly Mian Marghoob Ahmad, Focal Person to Chief Minister Punjab Mr. Bilal Rizwan, and Chief Organizer Lahore Division PMLN Mr. Zeeshan Aslam Khan as guests of honor. The event was also attended by Prof Dr. Kamran Ashraf, Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Science, and Prof Dr. Habib-Ur-Rehman, Dean of the Faculty of Biosciences, along with numerous faculty and staff members.
The newly elected NTSA office-bearers include Syed Imran Haider Zaidi as President, Muhammad Amjad Khan as Senior Vice-President, Shahid Akhtar as Vice-President, Muhammad Usman Jawaid as General Secretary, Nasir Masih as Joint Secretary, Shahid Aziz Butt as Secretary Finance, Amjad Mubarik as Secretary Information, Sufyan Rafique as Chairman, and Tabassum Ali as Vice-Chairman.
During his address at the ceremony, Mian Marghoob Ahmad extended his congratulations to the new office-bearers, highlighting the importance of serving the community. He expressed hope that they would work with dedication to uphold the legitimate demands and rights of employees. Bilal Rizwan commended the Vice-Chancellor's appointment by the Chief Minister of Punjab and anticipated further advancements for employee welfare under Prof Dr. Masood Rabbani's leadership.
Prof Dr. Masood Rabbani praised the efforts of the NTSA in contributing to the university's development and emphasized UVAS's commitment to prioritizing staff issues. He reaffirmed his dedication to merit-based appointments and underscored the university's initiatives for staff welfare and progress. In his remarks, President Imran Zaidi outlined the association's agenda for enhancing employee welfare, focusing on health and residential facilities, staff promotions, and safety provisions for labor staff.
