UVAS Business School Hosts Entrepreneurial Gala to Cultivate Student Startups

Lahore: The University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) in Lahore hosted a daylong Entrepreneurial Gala, organized by its Department of Economics and Business Management (DEBM). The event aimed to foster entrepreneurial skills among students, providing them with a platform to showcase their business ideas and innovations.

The gala, held in front of the UVAS Administration Block Lawn, was inaugurated by UVAS Vice-Chancellor Meritorious Prof. Dr. Muhammad Younus. He was joined by Prof. Dr. Aneela Zameer Durrani, Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Science, and Prof. Dr. Rana Muhammad Ayyub, Dean of the Faculty of Life Sciences Business Management. The event was attended by a large number of faculty members and students.

Prof. Dr. Muhammad Younus emphasized the importance of the gala in encouraging students to develop entrepreneurial skills necessary for starting their own businesses. He acknowledged the active participation of students who presented a wide array of products, ranging from technology-based solutions like QR code standees and digital business cards, to food items such as mood tea and instant coffee syrup.

The event also featured a variety of handicrafts including tapestry bags and wool jewelry, along with innovative business ideas like campus-based marketplaces and automatic pet food dispensers. The primary goal was to offer students a venue to demonstrate their micro startups and innovative concepts.

The Entrepreneurial Gala not only highlighted the creativity and initiative of UVAS students but also served as a testament to the university’s commitment to nurturing the entrepreneurial spirit within its academic community.
