UoS Conference Highlights Interdisciplinary Research in Social Sciences

Sargodha: The University of Sargodha recently hosted the International Conference on Interdisciplinary Perspectives in Social Sciences (ICIPSS-2025), an event that gathered national and international scholars to explore emerging trends and challenges in the field. The conference featured 51 peer-reviewed papers across themes including crime, justice, gender inequality, and climate change.

The conference, organized by the Department of Sociology and Criminology, had Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas as the chief guest. Other notable attendees included Prof. Dr. Masood Sarwar Awan, Ms. Kainat Raza, and Ms. Shiza Ranjha. Keynote speakers from the U.S. and Türkiye, along with scholars from Pakistani universities, contributed to the discussions.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas stressed the significance of interdisciplinary research in tackling complex social issues. He emphasized that platforms like ICIPSS-2025 are essential for fostering critical thinking and global collaboration.

Chairman Prof. Dr. Khawar Mushtaq highlighted the conference’s objectives, which focused on promoting collaborative scholarship and evidence-based dialogue to address social concerns both nationally and internationally.

Ms. Kainat Raza praised the leadership of Prof. Dr. Abbas, attributing the university’s progressive academic environment and enhanced reputation to his efforts.
