University of the Punjab Announces Ph.D. Defense on Polymeric Tanning Agents


Lahore: The Institute of Polymer and Textile Engineering at the University of the Punjab is set to host the public defense and viva voce examination of Mr. Shahid Rehman Khan’s Ph.D. dissertation on July 30, 2024. The dissertation titled “Extraction of Polymeric Tanning Agents from Barks and their Application in Leather Industry” represents a significant advancement in the field of Polymer Technology.



According to University of the Punjab, the event will take place at noon in the Institute of Polymer and Textile Engineering. Mr. Shahid Rehman Khan’s research focuses on innovative methods to extract tanning agents from bark, which could lead to more sustainable practices in the leather industry. The defense will provide an opportunity for academic and industry professionals to review and discuss the implications of his findings on current manufacturing processes.
