Sargodha: Celebrations continued on the second day of the 12th Convocation of the University of Sargodha (UoS) as graduates from various faculties received their degrees.
According to University of Sargodha, the academic procession was led by Asim Sher Maken, a Member of the Punjab Assembly and Parliamentary Secretary for Livestock and Dairy Development, alongside Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas. The procession featured the Pro Vice Chancellor, Registrar, Controller of Examinations, Deans, Directors, and Heads of Departments.
Degrees were conferred upon students from the Faculty of Agriculture, Faculty of Arts and Humanities, Faculty of Computing and Information Technology, and Faculty of Engineering and Technology. In his opening address, Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas discussed the University’s academic and developmental progress, announcing initiatives such as the establishment of an international campus in China and a teaching hospital. He called for support from the Government of Punjab for these projects, emphasizing the importance of strengthening academia-industry linkages and the role of universities in policy development for evidence-based decision-making at the national level. He encouraged graduates to focus on skills, innovation, moral values, and respect for institutions, teachers, and parents.
Addressing the convocation, Asim Sher Maken congratulated the Vice Chancellor and his team on the successful event, acknowledging the University’s achievements. He assured the University’s administration of full support from the Government of Punjab for future academic and developmental initiatives, reinforcing the government’s commitment to enhancing higher education institutions.
