University of Punjab to Host Symposium on Advances in Industrial Chemistry and Optics

Lahore, The School of Physical Sciences at the University of Punjab is set to host a one-day symposium on March 8, 2024, titled “Recent Trends in Industrial Chemistry and Optics.” The event will take place at Al-Razi Hall, Center for Under Graduate Studies on the Quaid-e-Azam Campus, and will delve into the latest advancements and applications in these dynamic fields.

According to University of The Punjab, the symposium is organized under the patronage of Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Khalid Mahmood, with Dr. Farah Kanwal serving as the chief organizer. The program is designed to cover a broad spectrum of topics, including materials for energy conversion and storage, nanomaterials, polymer composites, functionalities of laser and LEDs, optical bandgap engineering, photovoltaics, and advanced optical materials.

Key dates leading up to the symposium include an abstract submission deadline for oral or poster presentations on February 27, 2024, with notifications of acceptance or rejection by February 29, 2024. The registration deadline is set for March 6, 2024. The symposium’s organizing committee comprises Dr. Shoomaila Imran, Dr. Syed Shahbaz Ali, Dr. Muhammad Rizwan, Dr. Uzma Hira, and Dr. Muhammad Azeem Arshad, among others.

The symposium aims to facilitate a platform for scholars, professionals, and students to exchange ideas, explore collaborative opportunities, and discuss the challenges and possibilities in the burgeoning sectors of industrial chemistry and optics. Registration fees are set at 3500 PKR for professionals, 2000 PKR for faculty, and 1000 PKR for students, with on-desk registration available on the day of the event.
