University of Engineering and Technology Selects Contractors for Solar System Installation

Mardan: The University of Engineering and Technology has announced the successful bidders for the “Design, Build and Installation of 200 kW On Grid Photovoltaic (PV) Solar System” across its campus. The project targets the new academic, old academic block, and the administration block, aiming to enhance the university’s energy sustainability.

According to University of Engineering and Technology – Mardan, the selection process involved a meticulous technical evaluation of the bidders’ compliance with project specifications, financial soundness, and their previous experience with similar projects. The evaluation criteria included technical compliance, financial stability, and proven experience in similar and ongoing projects, along with the provision of after-sales service and warranty periods.

M/S Sustainable Energy Associates Pvt Ltd, based in Peshawar, received a total of 61.5 points out of a possible 70, qualifying for the project. Similarly, M/S Mason 1 Renewable Energy S.M.C Pvt Ltd, also from Peshawar, scored 67 points, while M/S Renewable Stars from the Islamabad-Rawalpindi area garnered 64 points. Each company was assessed in multiple categories including technical compliance, experience, and the provision of after-sales service.

This initiative is part of the university’s strategy to adopt more sustainable energy sources and reduce its carbon footprint. The installation of the solar system is expected to not only provide a clean, renewable energy source but also to enhance the overall energy efficiency of the campus.
