UMT Celebrates Milestone with 25th Convocation Ceremony

Lahore, The University of Management and Technology (UMT) celebrated the achievements of 3799 graduates at its 25th Convocation. The ceremony, held on Thursday, was a remarkable event, honoring graduates across various disciplines and recognizing outstanding academic and extracurricular achievements.

According to University of Management and Technology (UMT), the convocation was marked by the presence of distinguished personalities, including Muhammad Baligh ur Rehman, Governor of Punjab and Patron of UMT, Ibrahim Hasan Murad, Provincial Minister, Usman Asif, CEO of Devsinc, and UMT’s leadership. A total of 3799 graduates were conferred degrees, including 3083 Bachelor’s, 133 Master’s, 553 MS/MPhil, and 30 PhDs. The ceremony also featured the presentation of numerous medals, awards, and accolades to exceptional students.

The convocation began with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by the National Anthem. Dr. Sarwar Hussain paid a poignant tribute to the late Dr. Hasan Sohaib Murad, fondly remembered as ‘Safeer e Ilm o Agahi’, through a touching poem.

Dr. Asif Raza, Rector of UMT, welcomed the dignitaries and congratulated the graduates, their families, and UMT faculty. He reflected on UMT’s growth under the visionary leadership of Dr. Murad, acknowledging its rise as a leading private sector university nationally and internationally.

Governor Baligh ur Rehman’s address emphasized the importance of a clear vision, strong character, moral values, continuous improvement, learning, and patience in achieving success. He highlighted the need for tolerance and respect across social strata.

Usman Asif, in his speech, stressed the critical role of Information Technology in shaping industries and advancing Pakistan’s progress. He encouraged graduates to apply their skills innovatively and highlighted the value of mentorship and continuous learning.

Dr. Ahmad Umar Murad congratulated the graduates, expressing confidence in their potential to contribute positively to Pakistan’s future. He urged them to pursue a life of purpose, continuous learning, and skill development.

The event concluded with Ibrahim Hasan Murad expressing gratitude and presenting souvenirs, marking the end of a memorable and inspiring day for the UMT community.
