UCP Students Clinch Medals at National Weightlifting Championship

Lahore: University of Central Punjab (UCP) students achieved notable success at the Senior National Weightlifting Championship 2024-25, securing both gold and bronze medals. The championship saw a strong performance from the Higher Education Commission (HEC) team, which included several UCP athletes.

According to University of Central Punjab, the HEC team featured ten players, six of whom are from UCP. They managed to win three medals in total: one gold, which also set a new national record, and two bronze. Muhammad Yousaf, a BS Computer Science student at UCP, claimed the gold in the 61kg category. Suba Khan, studying BS Sports Sciences, won a bronze medal in the 73kg category.

This achievement underscores the strength of UCP’s weightlifting program and the caliber of athletes it produces, contributing significantly to the overall medal tally of the HEC team at the national level.
