Quetta: The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Turbat, Prof. Dr. Gul Hasan, met with the Provincial Minister for Finance, Mir Shoaib Nosherwani, in Quetta to discuss critical issues impacting the university, particularly the recruitment of senior faculty and administrative staff. The meeting also involved Additional Secretary Finance, Hafiz Muhammad Qasim.

According to University of Turbat, the discussions centered around the university's operational challenges, including financial constraints and the impact of staff shortages on academic and administrative functions. Prof. Dr. Gul Hasan sought the Finance Minister's support for sanctioning, advertising, and filling essential positions, a move he stated was crucial for both accreditation purposes and the fulfillment of the university's Strategic Plan 2030.

The Vice-Chancellor highlighted that statutory positions have already been advertised, with candidate shortlisting completed, and that subsequent selection steps are being carried out in compliance with prescribed rules. He mentioned that the requisition for filling vacant positions has been submitted to the Department of Colleges, Higher and Technical Education and is currently awaiting approval from the University Finance Commission.

In response, Finance Minister Nosherwani assured Dr. Hasan of the Government of Balochistan's full cooperation in resolving the university's issues, particularly in expediting the recruitment process.
