QUETTA: The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Turbat, Prof. Dr. Gul Hasan, and the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Gwadar, Prof. Dr. Abdul Razzaq Sabir, convened with Governor Balochistan Sheikh Jaffar Khan Mandokhail at the Governor House in Quetta to deliberate on advancing higher education and addressing strategic challenges in Balochistan, with a specific focus on universities in South Balochistan.

According to University of Turbat, the discussions underscored the importance of aligning academic programs with regional economic needs. Governor Mandokhail emphasized empowering youth and advancing national progress through education. He directed the universities to tailor their curricula to market-driven sectors like Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, the Blue Economy, and Health Sciences. Prof. Dr. Gul Hasan briefed the Governor on the university's forward-looking academic vision, announcing new technology-centric degree programs set to commence in 2027, aimed at bridging technological gaps in the region.

Governor Mandokhail assured support in overcoming academic, financial, and administrative hurdles faced by the University of Turbat, particularly in filling vacant senior positions. Prior to the meeting, Prof. Dr. Gul Hasan also sought assistance from the Provincial Finance Minister Mir Shoaib Nosherwani to tackle the university's financial and recruitment issues.
