Turbat: The University of Turbat’s Department of Natural and Basic Sciences held a workshop titled “Becoming a Smart Researcher in the Age of AI,” focusing on integrating artificial intelligence into research methodologies. Conducted by Dr. Fida Ahmed, the event drew faculty and students from various departments, aiming to enhance research processes.
Dr. Ahmed, who serves as a lecturer and the Director of the Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization at the university, led the session. He covered the application of AI in identifying research gaps, structuring academic papers, performing literature reviews, and analyzing data, among other areas.
The workshop highlighted AI’s role as a supportive tool in research, underscoring that while AI can boost productivity and precision, it does not replace human creativity. The session was interactive, with participants engaging in discussions on practical AI applications in their work.
Associate Professor Dr. Haneef Ur Rehman was also in attendance, contributing to the discourse on enhancing research efficiency with AI tools. Participants expressed appreciation for the insights provided, which are expected to aid in improving their research capabilities.
