Islamabad: Tehreek Nafaze Fiqhe Jafariya (TNFJ) has declared the period from the 22nd to the 26th of Rabi al-Awwal as days of mourning in honor of Hazrat Abu Talib, the protector of Prophet Muhammad. This announcement comes as a tribute to his pivotal role in safeguarding the early days of Islam.
According to Tehreek Nafaze Fiqhe Jafariya, the central secretary general, Allama Raja Bisharat Hussain Emami, emphasized that these days of mourning are established to commemorate the passing of Hazrat Abu Talib, as originally designated by the Prophet Muhammad. He highlighted that these observances serve to express solidarity with oppressed communities worldwide and strengthen the resolve of Pakistan. The event also underscores the importance of prayer for the upliftment of the Islamic world and humanity’s relief from terrorism.
The Days of Mourning committee, led by convenor Haji Mukhtar Shah, deputy convenor MH Jafri, and secretary Ghulam Abbas Hydari, will organize various programs during this period. Allama Emami remarked on Hazrat Abu Talib’s unwavering support and protection of the Prophet, which effectively shielded him from the adversities posed by the Quraysh of Makkah.
