63rd International Sessions for Young Olympic Ambassadors, 12-22 June 2023, Athens and Olympia, Greece

Lahore, April 03, 2023 (PPI-OT):The 63rd International Session for Young Olympic Ambassadors will take place on 12-22 June 2023 in Athens and Olympia, Greece. The program aims to bring together young people aged 20-30 from different nationalities to encourage friendship, cooperation, and the promotion of Olympism. Participants will engage in lectures, discussions, cultural visits, sports and arts activities, and presentations by Olympians. The main topic of the session is “Innovating physical education and Olympic values education to build a better world,” with a special topic on “Renewal and rejuvenation: How can the Olympic Movement remain relevant to youth through physical education and Olympic values education.”

Participants must speak fluent English or French and be between 20 and 30 years old, with a genuine interest in the educational aspects of the activities organized during the Session and current issues of Olympism. All participants are required to pay registration fees amounting to 150 euros per person. However, participation fees amounting to 1000/- euros per person for one male AND/OR one female participant(s) per NOC/NOA are covered by IOC Olympic Solidarity. IOC Olympic Solidarity will also cover 50% of the cost of air tickets (economy class) for one male and/or one female participant per NOC.

The IOA will cover local transport from June 10th (arrival) to June 22nd (departure) and accommodation/boarding accommodation in Athens (only for the nights of 10th, 11th and 21st June 2023) and in Olympia. Any additional overnight stay in Athens must be taken in charge by the participants. If you are interested, please nominate suitable candidates and send their updated CV, photograph, and a copy of their passport by 15 April 2023.

IOC issues recommendations for IFs and international sports event organisers

Lahore, March 30, 2023 (PPI-OT): International Olympic Committee (IOC) recently held an online consultation with NOCs, IOC Members, athletes’ representatives, and International Federations, followed by an IOC Executive Board meeting on March 28th, 2023.

We are pleased to share with you the IOC Executive Board Statement, which includes the Recommended Conditions of Participation for Individual Neutral Athletes and Support Personnel with a Russian or Belarusian Passport in International Sports Competitions organized by the International Federations and International Sports Event Organizers. Additionally, we have attached a transcript of the introduction to the remarks made by the UN Special Rapporteur in the field of cultural rights, which was shared during the NOC consultation call.

We hope that these documents will provide you with a comprehensive understanding of the Olympic Movement’s position on this delicate matter.

ANOC Dream Together Master Program 2023-2024 – Seoul National University

I am pleased to inform that ANOC offers, for this year again, ten scholarships to sports administrators with higher education qualifications (Bachelor’s degree or higher) and English proficiency are eligible to participate.

The Dream Together Master is operated within the Global Sport Management Graduate Program of Seoul National University. The program will commence in late August 2023 and will finish in June 2025, but the students will stay in the Republic of Korea for 17 months, up until December 2024; and for the remaining 6 months, students will work on their thesis in their home countries.

You are requested to kindly nominate a suitable person(s) with Bachelor’s degree or higher and English proficiency and send a completed Application Form along with all necessary documents to POA Secretariat latest by 13 March 2022 for onward submission to ANOC. Master (M.A) in Olympic Studies (2023-2025) – German Sports University Cologne

I am pleased to inform you that the International Olympic Committee has offered the Executive Master of Arts Olympic Studies degree programme, which is implemented at the German Sport University Cologne in cooperation with the programme’s international partner universities.

The M.A. Olympic Studies offers a multi- and interdisciplinary approach to its structure and teaching components, with a firm identification to the Olympic values. Its teaching contents about the diverse aspects of the Olympic Movement such as commercialisation, marketing, professionalization, politicisation, internationalisation, administration and peace-building efforts are substantially linked with sport ethical and educational considerations

The M.A is a unique international part-time program in Olympic Studies. It is a two-year program organized in six modules of six working days each and a thesis. The IOC Olympic Studies Center contributes to the development of the academic project concept and the program is organized with the support of IOC. This M.A. Olympic Studies will start in September 2023. Flyer of the Program is attached for your perusal and information.

Foregoing above, please nominate a suitable person who is holding a bachelor degree and have at least two years of work experience in an environment ideally relevant to the interest of the Olympic Movement and Olympic Education. The official statement of the Olympic Council of Asia on IOC EB’s statement on solidarity with Ukraine, sanctions against Russia and Belarus, and the status of athletes from these countries 

Kuwait, January 26, 2023 (PPI-OT):The OCA joins the Olympic Movement in its support of the IOC Executive Board’s statement on solidarity with Ukraine, sanctions against Russia and Belarus, and the status of athletes from these countries. The OCA believes in the unifying power of sport and that all athletes, regardless of their nationality or the passport they hold, should be able to compete in sports competitions. The OCA has offered to give eligible Russian and Belarusian athletes the opportunity to take part in competitions in Asia, including the Asian Games.

The OCA remains on standby as the IOC continues to explore with International Federations the pathway for the return of Russian and Belarusian athletes’ participation in competition under strict conditions.
