Army won “DHA” 29th National Men and “DHA” 15th National Women Karate Championships 2022 

Lahore, October 16, 2022 (PPI-OT):“DHA”29th National Men Karate Championship 2022 and “DHA” 15th National Women Karate Championship 2022 ended at Capt. Fasih Babar Shaheed Sports Complex block-A, DHA phase 6, Lahore. Teams from all the affiliated units of Pakistan Karate Federation WAPDA, Army, Railways, Police, Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, KP, HEC and Islamabad participated in the championships, and more than 350 players participated in these championships.

Army Won 6 Gold 2 Silver 2 Bronze Medals secured first position in “DHA”29th National Men Karate Championship 2022, WAPDA won 3 Gold, 4 Silver, 1 Bronze Medals and got second position. Sindh won 1 Gold and 1 Bronze and got third position.

Army Won 7 Gold, 1 Silver and 1 Bronze Medals secured first position in “DHA” 15th National Women Karate Championship 2022, WAPDA won 2 Gold, 4 Silver, 2 Bronze Medals and got second position. Balochistan won 2 Silver and 4 Bronze and got third position.

The Finals / Prize Distribution Ceremony of the championships were held at Capt. Fasih Babar Shaheed Sports Complex block-A, DHA phase 6, Lahore. Brig Waheed Gul Sati Administrator DHA Lahore was chief guest at closing Ceremony of the championships.

Opening Ceremony of 29th Men and 15th National Women Championships 2022 

Lahore, October 15, 2022 (PPI-OT):It is to inform that opening ceremony of “DHA” 29th National Men Karate Championship 2022 and 15th National Women Karate Championship 2022″ held on Friday 14th October, 2022 at Capt. Fasih Babar Shaheed Sports Complex block-A, DHA phase 6, Lahore.

Lt Gen (R) Syed Arif Hasan HI(M), President, Pakistan Olympic Association graced the occasion as Chief Guest. Teams from all the affiliated units of Pakistan Karate Federation WAPDA, Army, Railways, Police, Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, KP, HEC and Islamabad participated in the championships, and more than 350 players participated in these championships.

Today Army won five Gold and one Bronze Medal, Railways won two Silver medals and one Bronze medal, WAPDA won three silver and one Bronze Medal, Balochistan won one silver and three Bronze Medals, Sindh won one Gold and one Bronze medal.

Lt Gen (R) Syed Arif Hasan HI(M), President, Pakistan Olympic Association appreciated the efforts of Pakistan Karate Federation and Organizing Committee of DHA. He said it’s a great honour for Lahore city that such mega event is organized here. This event will definitely create awareness / enthusiasm among the people of Lahore.

Teams from all the affiliated units of Pakistan Karate Federation WAPDA, Army, Railways, Police, Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, KP, HEC and Islamabad participated in the championships, and more than 350 players participated in these championships.

In today’s Women Championship 4 events are played in which Pakistan Army won 4 Gold Medal and remains prominent while WAPDA won 3 Silvers and 1 bronze medal, Railways won 3 Bronze, Balochistan won 1 Silver 2 Bronze, Islamabad won 1 Bronze Medal and Sindh won 1 Bronze Medal.

In Men Competition 4 events played in which Pakistan Army 4 Gold Medal and remains prominent while WAPDA won 2 Silvers and 1 bronze medal, KPK won 1 Silver, Railways won 3 Bronze, Balochistan won 1 Silver 2 Bronze, Islamabad won 1 Bronze Medal and Sindh won 1 Bronze Medal.

Lahore, October 04, 2022 (PPI-OT):Pakistan Karate Federation in collaboration with DHA Lahore is organizing “DHA” 29th National Men Karate Championship 2022 and 15th National Women Karate Championship 2022 from 14 – 16 October 2022 at DHA, Lahore.

Teams from all the affiliated units of Pakistan Karate Federation WAPDA, Army, Railways, Police, Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, KP, HEC and Islamabad are participating in the championships and compete for the top honour. Following will be the events / weight categories:

10th Commonwealth Karate Championship 

Lahore, September 09, 2022 (PPI-OT):The 10th Commonwealth Karate Championship was held from 7-8 September 2022 at Birmingham UK. I feel pleasure to inform that Mr. Hamza Iqbal Raja has won a bronze medal for Pakistan in 10th Commonwealth Karate Championship by defeating India, Wales and Cyprus.

Hamza, who hails from Azad Kashmir, was competing in men’s -84 kg category bout. He started his journey with win over India’s Vivek Teja Cherupalli in first round. The Pakistani Karateka knocked out his Indian opponent with score of 8-0.

However, in quarter final contest Hamza went down 7-2 against England’s Joe Kellaway. Following defeat in quarter final, Hamza’s chance of winning a medal remained alive and he entered in Repechage round. He defeated Wales’ Nathan Preece 11-5 to qualify for the Bronze Medal bout where he faced Demetris Demetriades of Cyprus defeated him by 8-5 and secure Bronze Medal.
