Malaysian Women’s Baseball Team arrives in Pakistan to play Women Baseball Series with Pakistan Women’s Baseball Team 

Lahore, March 24, 2022 (PPI-OT):The Malaysian women’s baseball team arrived in Pakistan to participate in the scheduled women’s baseball series between the national women’s baseball teams of Malaysia and Pakistan.

According to Syed Fakhar Ali Shah, President of Pakistan Federation Baseball, a 17-member contingent of Malaysian women’s baseball team arrived in Pakistan to play baseball series with Pakistan women’s baseball team. Accompanying the team is Malaysian Baseball Federation President Sajali bin Hussain. Officials of Pakistan Federation Baseball at Islamabad Airport including the Treasurer of the Federation and President of Islamabad Baseball Association Tahir Mehmood, Pakistan team coach Arif Shehzad, Chairman of Khawar Shah Baseball Academy Rawalpindi Zahid Awan and Malaysian High Commission Officer Mr. Deddy Faisal Ahmad Salleh welcomed the visiting team.

Malaysian High Commission Officer Daddy Faisal Ahmed Salleh thanked Pakistan Federation Baseball for the warm welcome of the team. He hoped that the series would further enhance the good relations between the two countries and would greatly help in the development and promotion of women’s baseball in both countries. The Malaysian team along with Pakistani officials left Islamabad Airport for Lahore via Motorway.

According to Syed Fakhar Ali Shah, the team will reach Bahria Town Lahore from Islamabad where all the three matches of the series will be played. The first match will be played on March 27, the second on March 28 and the third on March 29. The World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) has officially approved the series and both teams will now be awarded world ranking points for the series. He hoped that the successful and safe conduct of this women’s series would not only conveyed a soft image of Pakistan to the world but would also make the world know that Pakistan is a safe country for sports.

Syed Fakhar Ali Shah further said that the selection committee of the federation has selected Pakistan team for the series including Madiha Rasheed, Ansa Irshad, Aqsa Abid, Sidra Riyasat, Humaira Khan, Zainab Riaz, Ayesha Ijaz, Zahida Ghani, Asia Sadiqa, Rashida Parveen, Noorena Khalil, Umm e Hani, Zulikha Malik, Sadia Bibi, Aneela Kanwal, Hira Abbas, Saiqa Riaz and Maryam Butt. The coaches will be Tariq Nadeem and Umair Bhatti.

Friendly Women’s Baseball Series 2022 Between Pakistan and Malaysia National Women’s Baseball Teams

Lahore, March 18, 2022 (PPI-OT): A Friendly Women’s Baseball Series will be held under the supervision of Pakistan Federation Baseball, between National Women’s Baseball Teams of Malaysia and Pakistan. According to Syed Fakhar Ali Shah, President of Pakistan Federation Baseball, the federation is working hard for the development of women’s baseball in Pakistan.

In this regard, the Federation has decided to hold a friendly women’s baseball series between the national women’s baseball teams of Malaysia and Pakistan. The series will feature three matches between the two teams, which will be held in Lahore from March 26 to March 31. According to Syed Fakhar Ali Shah, the World Baseball Softball Confederation has officially given permission to hold this event and now the teams will be awarded world ranking points for this series.

Syed Fakhar Ali Shah further said that the camp of Pakistan Women’s Baseball Team has been set up in AJWA City Gujranwala for the preparation of the series. The players in the camp are Zahida Ghani, Humaira Khan, Asia Siddique, Maida Batool, Sadia Bibi, Zulaikha, Ansa Irshad, Aqsa Abid, Rashida Parveen, Hira, Sidra Riasat, Umm-e-Hani, Noorina, Madiha, Zainab Riaz, Saiqa Riaz. Ayesha, Mehwish Ghulam, Anam Naseeb, Iqra, Anila, Anmol, Khizra, Ravel Farhan, Maryam Asif Butt and Ayesha Kiran.

The coaches of the team include Tariq Nadeem, Nisar Ahmed and Umair Imdad Bhatti. On March 25, the Selection Committee of Pakistan Federation Baseball will announce the squad for the series. It is hoped that the successful conduct of this series will go a long way in the development of women’s baseball in Pakistan.

Pakistan WAPDA wins 16th National Women’s Baseball Championship

Lahore, February 11, 2022 (PPI-OT):The 16th National Women’s Baseball Championship organized by Pakistan Federation Baseball which was held at Jinnah Stadium Gujranwala was won by Pakistan WAPDA after defeating Pakistan Army in a tough competition. The HEC team defeated the Punjab team and secured the third position in the event.

In the final match which consisted of 7 innings, Pakistan WAPDA after a tough competition defeated Pakistan Army 13-12. From Pakistan WAPDA, Madiha and Noorina scored 3 runs each, Zainab Riaz, Ayesha and Iram Shehzadi scored 2 runs each while Saiqa contributed with 1 run. For Army Asia score 3 runs, Humaira Khan and Zahida Ghani scored 2 runs each while Aqsa, Samya Khan, Rabia Shahid, Ansa and Madiha Batool scored 1 run each.

The Chief Guest of the final match was Commissioner Gujranwala Mr. Zulfiqar Ahmed Ghman. On this occasion Chairman Pakistan Federation Baseball Mr. Shaukat Javed, President Federation Syed Fakhar Ali Shah, Syed Manzar Shah Divisional Sports Officer Gujranwala and other officials of the Federation including Miss Humaira Mughal Secretary General Punjab Baseball Association, Mussadiq Hanif Head Coach Pakistan Baseball team, Jamil Kamran Chairman Baseball Umpiring Association, Tariq Nadeem Head Coach Pakistan Women Baseball Team and Rana Tanveer Ahmed CEO Ajwa City Gujranwala were also present. Syed Fakhar Ali Shah President PFB welcomed the special guest and other guests.

At the end of the match, Chief Guest Commissioner Gujranwala Zulfiqar Ahmed Ghman, Chairman PFB Mr. Shaukat Javed, President Syed Fakhr Ali Shah and Syed Manzar Shah DSO Gujranwala distributed medals among the players. Talking to media at the end of the match, Chief Guest Mr. Zulfiqar Ahmed Ghuman praised the performance of both the teams. He hoped that Pakistani women players would also show their talents in international baseball competitions and achieve success for their country. He also congratulated Pakistan Federation Baseball for holding this event in a befitting manner.

HEC team wins bronze medal in 16th National Women’s Baseball Championship 

Lahore, February 10, 2022 (PPI-OT):The magnificent competitions of the 16th National Women’s Baseball Championship organized by Pakistan Baseball Federation are underway at Jinnah Stadium Gujranwala. According to Syed Fakhar Ali Shah, President Pakistan Federation Baseball, the 16th National Women’s Baseball Championship at Jinnah Stadium in Gujranwala has entered its final stages. On the third day of the tournament, two matches were played in which Police defeated Sindh while HEC defeated Punjab.

In the first match, Police defeated Sindh 12-6. For winning team Anam, Aqsa, Allah Mafi and Iqra scored 2 runs each while Mahwish, Rimsha, Fazeelat and Zeba scored 1 run each. For Sindh Samita scored 2 runs while Mahnoor, Tulsi, Anita and Gul Jan scored 1 run each. According to Syed Fakhar Shah, on the third day of the tournament, Secretary General of Punjab Baseball Association Miss Humaira Mughal who is also Director Sports of Lahore College for Women University was the Chief Guest.

On her arrival she was welcomed by Syed Fakhar Ali Shah, President, PFB and Syed Manzar Shah, Divisional Sports Officer, Gujranwala. Other officials of the federation including Musaddiq Hanif Head Coach Pakistan Baseball Team, Jamil Kamran Chairman Baseball Umpiring, Tariq Nadeem Head Coach Pakistan Women Baseball Team and senior baseball players including Umar Mir, Nasir Butt and Atif Butt were also present on the occasion. The Chief Guest was also introduced to the players.

In the second match which was played for Bronze Medal, HEC team defeated Punjab team 12-2. From HEC, Tasmia, Gul Feroze, Waheeda and Arim scored 2 runs each while Aleena, Ayesha, Khyzra, Anmol and Minahel contributed 1 run each. For Punjab Maryam and Nida score 1 run each. After the victory in this match, the HEC team won the bronze medal in the championship. The final match for the Gold Medal will be played between Pakistan Army and Pakistan WAPDA tomorrow.

Army and WAPDA enter final of 16th National Women’s Baseball Championship Gujranwala 

Lahore, February 09, 2022 (PPI-OT):The 16th National Women’s Baseball Championship organized by Pakistan Federation Baseball is underway at Jinnah Stadium Gujranwala. According to Pakistan Federation Baseball President Syed Fakhr Ali Shah, Punjab beat Islamabad 17-0 in the opening match of the second day. From the winning team, Maryam and Nida scored 3 run each, Eli, Sana, Shakeela and Taslim scored 2 each while Ravel, Shumaila and Kiran contributed with 1 run each.

In the second match and the first semi-final, after a tough competition WAPDA defeated HEC 9-7. Madiha and Saiqa from WAPDA scored 2 run each while Zainab, Noorina, Iqra, Sidra Riasat and Iram scored 1 run each. According to Syed Fakhar Shah, on the second day of the tournament, Additional Deputy Commissioner General Gujranwala Miss Shumaila Manzoor was the Chief Guest.

For Punjab, Eli scored 2 runs while Maryam, Nida, Bakhtawar, Matiba and Ravel scored 1 run each. Miss Hummaira Mughal Secretary General Punjab Baseball Association was the Chief Guest on the match. DSO Skardu Baqir Shah and Skardu Baseball Coordinator Shakir Baig were also present on the occasion.

16th National Women’s Baseball Championship started in Jinnah Stadium, Gujranwala

Lahore, February 08, 2022 (PPI-OT):The 16th National Women’s Baseball Championship organized by Pakistan Federation Baseball started in Gujranwala. The championship will be played from February 8 to February 11. Talking to media, the President of Pakistan Federation Baseball (PFB) Syed Fakhar Ali Shah said that Federation is holding the 16th edition of National Women’s Baseball Championship in Gujranwala. Teams from Pakistan Army, Pakistan WAPDA, Pakistan Police, H.E.C, Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Islamabad are participating in the championship. The Pakistan Army team is defending its title.

According to Fakhar Shah, the colourful opening ceremony of the championship was held at Jinnah Stadium, Gujranwala. President of Gujranwala Chamber of Commerce Mr. Shoaib Butt was the Chief Guest at the inaugural function. He was accompanied by ADC Gujranwala Mr. Hussain Ali Raza and Executive Member Chamber of Commerce Muhammad Arif Saleem. The President of Pakistan Federation Baseball Syed Fakhar Ali Shah Welcome the Chief Guest. Syed Manzar Shah, Divisional Sports Officer Gujranwala/Organizing Secretary was also present on the occasion.

Other officials of the federation included Musaddiq Hanif, Jamil Kamran and Tariq Nadeem (Member at Large) and managers of all the teams were also present. The Chief Guest hitting the ball to open the championship. After the recitation from the Holy Quran and the national anthem, the Chief Guest was introduced to all the teams and officials. On the occasion, President of the Federation Syed Fakhar Ali Shah and Organizing Secretary Syed Manzar Shah presented bouquets and honorary shields to the Chief Guest and other guests.

According to Fakhar Ali Shah, four matches were played on the opening day in which teams from Islamabad, HEC, WAPDA and Army emerged victorious. The opening match of the championship was played between the teams of Islamabad and Balochistan in which Islamabad won 15-0. Maryam, Ayesha, Sehrish, Rimsha, Chaman, Fakhra, Anam, Shameer and Mahur scored runs for the winning team.

The second match was played between H.E.C and Sindh teams. HEC beat Sindh 14-0. Waheeda, Tasmia, Aram Barkat, Manahel, Khuzri, Hadia and Ayesha scored for the winning team.

In the third match, Pakistan WAPDA defeated Pakistan Police 10-0. From WAPDA, Sidra Reyast, Zainab Riaz, Madiha, Ayesha and Umm Hani scored runs.

In the fourth match, Pakistan Army defeated Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 12-0. Fareeha Nayab, Zahida Ghani, Rashida, Atiya, Hadia and Madiha scored runs for the Army.
